Makeup has always been something I’ve loved since I was really little. There were many instances where mom would come into her room and find me covered in her lipstick and eye shadow. I had an idea the other day that it would be really fun to take a makeup and beauty class with my mom. I found a great place that is offering make up classes and I think she’d enjoy it as much as I will. I found a few different places that sound terrific.
Learn the Art of Makeup Application
I found one place called Kalamakeup and it looks terrific. They offer two make up classes, level 1 and level 2 so I think we’ll start with the level 1 class and see if she likes it enough to want to do the level 2 class. We’re allowed to bring our own make up brushes or use theirs which are also available for sale. I think I’m going to use their brushes and see how they work. We’re going to learn all kinds of things in this first class. They’ll be doing a skin care analysis which I know we both will love. One of my biggest challenges is finding the right skin care routine. We’ll also be learning about basic color theory, application of color corrector, foundation and powder, natural eye makeup, blush and lip stick and even tips on techniques that help the makeup last 6-8 hours!
It’s going to be a lot of fun and I have a feeling we’ll both want to take the level 2 course after we take this one. Level one is about natural daytime makeup and level two is about the fancier evening make up. Each class is about 1.5 hours long. You can get more information on Kalamakeup classes by emailing or calling them. Kalamakeup, Ivy House, Room 101, 18-20 Wyndham Street, +852 9757 4220, firstname.lastname@example.org
ITS Fashion Make up Classes
Another place that has a really cool looking make up course is ITS. They actually have 5 different make up courses, starting with the basics and going all the way up to avante guard makeup. I don’t think mom will want to learn how to do that but you never know! The first course is all about the foundation of makeup and we’ll be learning about make up tools and how to care for them, basic make up and blending techniques , contouring and highlighting and we’ll get to learn some evening look makeup tips as well. If we decide to take course two it will be about learning how to do smokey eye makeup which is really great because I tried it once and ended up looking like a raccoon.
The classes are 3 hours long and students need to bring their own make up, brushes and a model if they don’t want to use themselves. The cost is HKD 1500 per course and they are offered on either Wednesdays or Saturdays. Wednesday is a night class from 6:30-9:30 and Saturday is a morning class from 9:30-12:30.
