Jeanne Hauguel Birth & Postnatal Doula, Antenatal Classes Educator, Breastfeeding Counsellor and IPEN Placenta Encapsulation Specialist in Hong Kong.

I am the mother of three gorgeous children, born in 2009, 2011 and 2013 in Hong Kong. During my own pregnancies I became fascinated by the process of birth and inspired by the capabilities of women’s bodies. After the birth of my second son, I decided to train to become a doula. Having been away from my mother and friends during my own pregnancies, births and postnatal periods, I feel strongly about being there for others when they embark on the journey of parenthood.

I trained with CBI (Childbirth International) in June 2011. This course gave me the extra knowledge I needed and together with my own birth experiences, I feel confident and honoured to be preparing and supporting women and their partners at this very special time of their lives.

I am a Certified Birth and Postpartum Doula – CD(CBI), Certified Waterbirth Doula (Waterbirth International Certification Workshop), and Certified Childbirth Educator – CCE Dip CBE(CBI). I am also a certified IPEN placenta encapsulation specialist and a Hypnodoula Certified with Hypnobabies®. I am currently continuing my education with CBI to be a Certified Breastfeeding Counselor.

Since then it has been an amazing journey and I’ve been privileged to support some brilliant couples through pregnancy, birth and beyond. I’m a bit of a birth and baby junkie, so I won’t list all the courses/reading I’ve done here (though do get in touch if you’d like a list). I do have experience/interest in active birth, homeopathy for labour and birth, breastfeeding support, natural birth, yoga, relaxation and visualisation techniques, and lots, lots more.

I strongly believe that, given the right support, everyone is able to have a positive birth experience; whatever that means for them. So my focus as a doula and a childbirth educator during pregnancy, birth and after is always in providing whatever is needed to encourage couples to explore and pursue their version of this positive birth.
